Without water, your body will age fast!
We have been taught even as early as during the primary grades that our bodies need at least eight glasses of water every day. Your body uses about 2-3 liters of water as it helps you do daily normal activities like breathing, sleeping, and moving around. The lost fluid must be replaced constantly. If you are living an active lifestyle, do regular exercises, or goes about every couple of days to go biking, swimming, or running, you will need even more water to replace the water that you lose by doing these activities.

They found out that it is best to drink according to thirst. Drinking too much water may cause significant harm. It can lead to hyponatremia, where blood sodium levels become abnormally low. This study was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Again, if you have a special condition, like if you are pregnant, you probably would be needing more. Children, on the other, will need less. Athletes and those who work out will need to drink more, especially when doing regular exercises or out competing with others.
Your location is also a factor that influences your need to drink water. If you are in a generally hot or humid area, the tendency of your body will be to lose more water easily as you will sweat much. That means your body will be sending signals that it is already thirsty more often.
